Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee is a group of individuals representing various organizations and perspectives.  They have been selected as an advisory group, which meets at project milestones to discuss project developments and participates in project-decision making.  The purpose of the advisory committee is multifaceted.  First, its use allows the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the project team to begin building partnerships with community leaders.  Second, the committee offers an opportunity for true public involvement in the study.  It offers a mechanism to channel the energies of both the engaged and mobilized stockholders, and affords representatives of active community groups to be heard in a constructive manner.  By participating in discussions and facilitated sessions concerning the issues of the project, the Committee members bring new perspectives and fresh ideas to the project team.  By virtue of their involvement in project discussions, committee members will be partners with GDOT and the project team.

The project team will display summaries of the Advisory Committee meetings on this project web page for public review.  Please refer to this page for future summaries.
